Slicing Tomatos like a Pro

At a glance:

People always complain about chopping tomatos. This demo will take you step by step with a professional chef as he offers his tips and techniques.

1) Start with the whole tomatos. I prefer Roma but this demo covers all tomatos. The key here is to start with a high quality knife that has recently been sharpened. Dont forget to wash your tomatos and remove the stems!
2) Lay each individual tomato on each side and make a quick downward motion through each tomato, cutting through the center. I recomend using the back half of the knife as it is usually more sharp and will yeald a clean cut.
3) Now that your tomatoes are in halfs, carefully face them flat side down and make an other quick short chop through the center of them. This should give you the desired size of quarter sliced tomatos!
